3 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups butter
1 egg, beaten
2 teaspoons almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup whole blanched almonds
Preheat oven to 375°.
Blend flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl.
Add butter, egg and flavorings; mix thoroughly with hand until dough is
smooth and well blended.
Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on a lightly floured board.
Cut with 2 inch round cookie cutter.
Place 1 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Place one almond in the center of each cookie.
Bake about 12 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
